The Examinations Office of the SRH University of Applied Sciences in North Rhine-Westphalia is responsible for organising Bachelor's and Master's examinations and for the tasks assigned by the study and examination regulations. General information regarding examinations
The classic Bachelor's degree programme comprises a total of 180 credit points (CP) – these are distributed over different modules that students have to take and pass and can also vary in their examination form. CP have nothing to do with grades. They stand for the amount of work you have to do to pass your degree. According to the German Rectors' Conference, the workload per CP is 25 to 30 hours. Ideally, around 30 of these points are collected per semester, so that the Bachelor's programme usually lasts 6 semesters.
Examination deadlines
In order to meet the general standard, the university offers students the opportunity to register for examinations electronically. This has been done since the winter semester 2013 via the tool "CampusNET".
Registration for examinations must take place by the deadline specified by the University Examination Office (3 weeks before the examination). Deregistration from an exam needs to be done at the latest one week before the respective exam date.
In case of illness, you must submit a medical certificate to the university no later than one week after the examination date. If the certificate is submitted in time, no failed attempt will be counted. If you miss an examination through no fault of your own, the reason must be reported immediately in writing and must be made credible, so that no failed attempt will be counted.
If there is neither a cancellation nor a certificate, a failed exam will be graded as "failed (5.0)".
External examinations
The university endeavours to ensure that you can take your examinations at other SRH locations if necessary - and to do so in the most time- and cost-optimised way possible for you. These are currently:
Dresden, Hamburg, Hanover, Munich, Riedlingen, Wertheim, SRH University of Applied Sciences Berlin, SRH University of Applied Sciences Heidelberg.
The SRH University of Applied Sciences reserves the right to rename external examination locations or to no longer offer existing ones.
